Gatorama, a family-owned animal park in Palmdale, Florida, is proud to share an exciting update on Georgie — the once “taped alligator” who found a safe home here in early 2023. After a remarkable recovery and steady growth, Georgie has now graduated to Gatorama’s front pond, where she actively participates in the park’s daily feed shows.
When Georgie first arrived at Gatorama, she was kept in her own private pond to rest, regain strength, and adjust to her new surroundings under the close supervision of our animal care team. Thanks to proper nutrition, expert care, and patience, Georgie has flourished — growing stronger, more confident, and ready to join our larger colony of alligators.
“Watching Georgie’s progress over the past few years has been incredible,” said Ben Register, Operations Manager at Gatorama. “She’s come a long way from her rescue days, and seeing her now in the front pond engaging with the other alligators — and even participating in our shows — is something special.”
Georgie’s journey is a testament to the importance of proper wildlife management, rehabilitation, and conservation partnerships. Gatorama continues to work closely with licensed trappers and facilities such as Gatorland to ensure that nuisance or displaced alligators have a safe and educational home, rather than being euthanized.
Visitors can now see Georgie up close during feed shows at the front pond — a shining example of resilience and the power of compassionate wildlife care.
